Network Management System Engineer
A fortune 500 Aerosapce Client of ours is searching for a Network Management Engineer to help support their mission critical network serving commercial airlines around the globe. Skills required:- Operator level working knowledge minimum, administrator level preferred.
- Linux OS, RedHat preferred.
- RedHat Package Manager (RPM) creation
- CM Tool use working knowledge (Git Repository)
- Automation concepts and application
- Network Concepts
- Basic or advanced understanding of following concepts and functions:
- Routing/Switching
- Security Concepts & Firewalls
- IP subnetting and CIDR
- IP routing concepts and protocols
- NAT/PAT
- CCNA
- Basic or advanced understanding of following concepts and functions:
- SNMP
- Ability to read/modify MIBs
- Understanding of SNMP Trap OIDs/Varbinds and how they are used in network management systems
- Familiarity with all three SNMP versions (v1/v2c/v3)
- Database
- Basic understanding of SQL- write traps to databased
- Scripting languages
- Shell
- Perl
- Python
- Working in high-availability environments - attention to detail- Also for Security
- HA concepts and application to server/network environments
- The following are specific to AGN NMS (nice to have)
- Familiarity with IBM Netcool OMNIbus Core/Probes/Gateway configuration
- WebGUI configuration - custom dashboards (future)
- NOI / Watson AIOps knowledge
- AIOps and ITSM automation concepts
- Probe rules file creation/updates
- Event Filter configuration
- P3 Familiarity with MicroFocus NNMi/NOM product suite (or administrative-level knowledge of similar NMS/Element Manager application)
- Application Failover configuration/administration
- Inventory/User account management
- SNMP Polling configuration/Monitoring Configuration
- Familiarity with IBM Netcool OMNIbus Core/Probes/Gateway configuration
