The role will manage a broad range of consumer product communications efforts focused around our Messenger Kids app - including product launches, technology innovations, major announcements and events, and issues management. This role will work alongside our product, engineering, design and marketing teams to create and activate new ways to reach parents and kids.Messenger Kids is the safer app for kids to connect with their family and friends. Made exclusively for kids, it is the only messaging app that gives parents control of the contact list and kids control of the fun! In the last few years, Messenger Kids has grown rapidly to connect millions of kids around the world with the people they care about most, using kid-friendly stickers, interactive filters, messaging and video chats. Messenger Kids is leading the industry to provide kids with a fun and safer way to express, create and communicate!The successful candidate will be highly experienced at devising and executing complex media campaigns, handling issue and crisis management, possessing deep media relationships, and working with executives. An ability to translate complex new developments into the words of everyday is required. A keen understanding of technology and communications tools is essential in this role. The ideal candidate will have experience of working at a dynamic pace and will be proactive, creative and highly organized.Required Skills: Devise and execute communications strategies and campaigns to support Messenger Kid's strategic objectives

Media relations work supporting consumer product launches and issues management

Help our product teams infuse Messenger Kids into pop culture and cultural moments

Manage a broad range of proactive and reactive projects and coordinate across the broader Facebook corporate communications team

Work cross-functionally with product, platform, policy, corporate and international PR teams on individual media opportunities and broader programs

Work with executives and teams across the company including engineering, product, sales, marketing and legal

Build relationships with media, press, analysts, influencers and other external stakeholders about products and initiatives

Work closely with external PR agencies to lead proactive and reactive PR

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, English or other relevant major

8+ years of experience in communications, technology or consumer

Effective communications and decision-making skills along with project management skills

Experience managing diverse cross-functional stakeholder relations in fast-paced and ambiguous environments, including working collaboratively with cross-functional groups including engineering, product, sales and marketing

Proven relationships with press and external stakeholders and experience organizing press briefings, media sessions and events

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with kid applications
