The position will be located in Annapolis Junction, MD. Your roles and responsibilities may include:

  • Design and plan network communication systems.
  • Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
  • Provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selections, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Conduct testing of network design.
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnections and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Evaluate and report on new communication technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or similar degree and five years relevant experience and high school diploma and nine years relevant experience. • Must have five (5) years' Linux experience • Must have experience with Juniper and Palo Alto Network technologies to include understanding routing and switching protocols and configuring and troubleshooting routers and switches • Minimum of five (5) years' experience with network debugging • Active TS/SCI w/poly clearance

Preferred Qualifications: • Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with systems • Provide configuration and design support of network devices • Ability to design complex network collection systems • Ability to ensure systems are secure in accordance to customer standards • Knowledge of CISCO routers • Experience with VMWare or other virtualization • Experience with Kickstart using Red Hat Linux • Successful candidate will perform system validation and verification • Ability to objectively assess architectural limitations or shortcoming in such areas as scaling, speed and throughput • Understanding of applicable commercial technologies and commercial best practices • Experience with Site XML and other site specific configuration files • Understanding of LAN/WAN architectures • Working experience with SNMP, Netflow, packet analysis, and troubleshooting with network tools • LAN and Internetworking Certifications • Network Certifications
