Our client, a leading manufacturer of building solutions products, is seeking an automation programmer to work at their plant in the southeastern Baltimore area. The purpose of the role is to provide automation programming, instrumentation, PCS specification, testing, hardware implementation and support services to the plant. The candidate will be responsible for all PCS activities with the goal of optimizing plant performance.

Duties
  • Compliance with all safety policies, ensuring that programming adheres to all safety & environmental guidelines
  • Maintenance, diagnosis and repair of E&I components such as PLCs, DCS, VFDs, controllers, transmitters and actuators
  • Troubleshooting of flow, level, pressure and temperature measurement & controls instruments including valves and actuators and complex electrical and electronic equipment; troubleshoot control system hardware and software issues, including for OT systems
  • Interact with other groups to manage equipment, installations, standards, control programs, etc for regulatory compliance
  • Manage system documentation
  • Define, document and implement changes to PCS programs to reduce downtime continuously improve the HMI and programming to both to increase the life of equipment
  • Lead PLC plant and maintenance projects
  • Certify plant instrumentation reliability
  • Help coordinate maintenance and contract personnel
  • Manage spare parts inventory

Requirements
  • 5-7 years' experience working in automation, electrical and instrumentation programming, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance
  • Strong background with PLCs (they're using AB) and HMIs (they're using Siemens), DCS, SCADA, VFDs and electrical
  • Strong knowledge of OT network administration

Travel is minimal-less than 5%
