Position Title: IT Director / Chief Information Office Location: Baltimore, MD Position Type: Fulltime Scope: Customer is seeking Executive Search Consultation services to find candidates to fill an I.T. Director / Chief Information Officer position and a Director of Corrections position. Below are the position descriptions for the direct hire positions. Definition of Responsibilities: Executive level position, which reports to the Coustomer's Administrative Officer. Responsible for providing strong leadership and direction for the Office of Information Technology. Incumbent plans, coordinates, provides leadership and guidance in critical areas of technology administration, including budgeting, resource development and allocation, policy formation, technology evaluation, development, implementation, and administration of innovative IT solutions and digital strategy initiatives and service development. Essential Duties: The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Directs and manages the day-to-day operations of the Admin, Project Management, and Access Management teams. Directing, and coordinating the work of professional staff involved in fostering innovation, collaboration, customer service, and process improvement across the organization Represents the Office of Information Technology on information technology planning and operational task forces and committees as appropriate. Responsible for overseeing Information Technology Advisory Committee (ITAC) Provides strategic leadership and guidance at the executive level in critical areas of technology service operations. Leads the overall information technology strategic planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing information technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technology projects. Continually improve IT cost effectiveness with respect to both capital and operating costs; Assists, plans and implement IT infrastructure configurations and or changes Partners with fellow IT leadership and end-users to ensure technology solutions focus on direct business benefit. Knowledge of how to leverage IT strategy; roadmaps; architecture; engineering; operations; policy, processes and standard industry practices; and innovation and program delivery appropriately throughout the course of an engagement. Coordinate with the Coustomer's Executive's Offices of Communications, Community Engagement, Government Affairs, Government Reform & Strategic Initiatives and the Chief Data and Performance Officer on the Administration's priorities including data governance, open data and data analytics. Oversees, manages and participates in the development, preparation and administration of the departmental budget; directs the forecasting of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; projects adjustments to fund revenues; controls and monitors expenses; ensures fiscal responsibility; and implements budgetary adjustments as necessary. Maintains an excellent working knowledge of current IT technology, industry trends and emerging developments including cybersecurity best practices and protocols Monitors, evaluate and improve customer service delivery. Understands the business needs of staff and departments and balance fulfillment of those needs with considerations of broader Coustomer's objectives and limited resources. Provides leadership in evaluating complex technology strategies and developing strategic approaches that maximize county resources while bringing the best results. Develops and maintains best practices and standards in process, design, architecture, and operations of all aspects of services-oriented information technology delivery. Maintains the highest standards in technology-acquisition practices, including developing lasting relationships with the technology vendor community. Oversees contract negotiations Identifies information technology issues and opportunities, analyzes problems and alternatives and develops sound conclusions and recommendations. Sets priorities and allocates resources to meet staff needs in a timely, effective manner. Is nimble and responsive to changing circumstances. Communicates effectively verbally and in writing. Meaningful and relevant supervisory experience required. Other duties and responsibilities as required. Licenses, Registrations, Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) preferred Other IT related Certification preferred but not required
