Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for disaster recovery (DR) plan development, implementation, testing, remediation, communication, and maintenance utilizing the recently implemented network, compute, storage, and high availability assets across datacenters and cloud server environments. This position will also support key recovery objectives, including IT infrastructure damage assessments, crisis communications, and coordination with internal and external shareholders

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Establish enterprise-level Information Technology Disaster Recovery program leveraging the technology assets in private datacenters as well as non-private cloud environments (i.e. - AWS, Azure).

2. Ensure maximum leverage of deployed high availability and disaster recovery IT assets (i.e. - multiple, geographically diverse datacenters, hyper-convergent infrastructure, site recovery manager software, redundant Internet, and Wide Area Network connectivity).

3. Establish and maintain the overall plans for executing all DR procedures and understand their interdependencies.

4. Participate in assessments of the impact of potential disruptions in IT services, including declaring a disaster and activating the DR plan.

5. Manage all IT DR documentation, including policy and procedure updates, with a focus on maintaining the most up to date versions. Facilitate the design, execution, and continuous improvement of IT DR plans through exercising.

6. Update and maintain records, network documentation, roles/responsibilities, procedures, and protocols for network resources required for DR operations.

7. Coordinating the development, training, and exercising of IT DR plans.

8. Establish and maintain detailed DR communications, and command and control plans through a change management process.

9. Interface with the IT technical staffs to ensure that disaster recovery solutions are adequate, in place, maintained, and tested as part of the regular operational life cycle.

10. Establish testing methodologies to ensure that all plans are sound and secure. Develop and understand all testing necessary for a successful DR execution.

11. Schedule and lead all DR exercises.

12. Record results, validate outcomes, document and report outcomes of DR exercises and tests.

13. Regularly report Disaster Recovery activities to upper management.

14. Act as liaison for auditing and examination of disaster recovery processes.

15. Interface with the project managers to ensure that new and ongoing projects sustain the level of recoverability consistent with business objectives

Work Experience

• Required: 5 years' experience in IT disaster recovery field (i.e. - creating, implementing, testing IT DR plans)

• Preferred: 10 years' experience in IT disaster recovery field

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of disaster recovery strategy, planning, implementation, compliance, monitoring, and closeout

• Working knowledge of the following technologies

o Cisco HyperFlex Hyperconverged Infrastructure

o VMware Site Recovery Manager

o Cisco Intersight

o Cisco CloudCenter

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of current IT DR planning techniques and technologies, as well as the methods used to perform risk analyses and business impact analyses

• Working knowledge of data networking concepts, technologies, and best practices

• Strong communication and documentation skills

• Proven competency in executing large projects, on time and within budget

• Experience coordinating new operational models and procedures, and explaining complex problems or situations

Qualifications:

Education and Years of Experience:

• Required: Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study

• Preferred: Master's degree in relevant field of study

Required Skills/Certifications:

Required: at least one of the following current certifications:

o EDRP - EC-Council Disaster Recovery Professional

o C/DRE - Certified Disaster Recovery Engineer

o CBCP - Certified Business Continuity Professional

• Preferred: Project Management Professional
