Job Description: Network Engineer The Network Engineer ensures the stable operation of the in-house computer network. This includes assisting in development, installation, and maintenance of the data network communications. Utilities knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks. Troubleshoots network performance issues. Assists in developing and maintaining a disaster recovery plan. Recommends upgrades, patches, new applications and equipment. Provides technical support and guidance to end users as needed. Provides mentoring and technical assistance with members of the team including Helpdesk personnel. Responsibilities: Building, configuring, installing, managing, and monitoring network infrastructure related hardware and software Maximizes performance using network monitoring tools, troubleshooting network and/or system outages, scheduling updates, and collaboration with internal teams Manages LANs, WANs, Internet, and wireless implementations Troubleshooting and monitoring of network activities and utilization. Work with vendor technical support to resolve issues, if needed. Network problem resolution and managing incident response tickets within an Enterprise ticketing system Conducts research and makes recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of infrastructure procurement and development efforts Creating, updating, maintaining technical documentation Assist in the design, build and release of network solutions to meet the business, service, and lifecycle network security requirements Manage and implement simple and complex network changes Implement automated solutions to current manual tasks Capable of remote site support for on and off-site employees and contractors Provide support to the various IT teams and the company in general including off hours support and participate in an on-call rotation. Experience and Education: Must have at least 2 years' experience Cisco certification, CCNA or higher Highly experienced with IT processes, Patch Management, Change Management, Configuration Management, Release Management, Problem Management, Project Management, Business Continuity Planning, Customer Service and Vendor Relationship Management Working technical knowledge of network hardware (Cisco, Juniper) Working knowledge or qualification in Windows/Linux/Unix Cabling and device installation standards and implementation Able to lift/move heavy network equipment Cisco Certified qualifications, CCNA or higher Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering
