- Provides overall leadership for manufacturing departments in broth in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, cost, equipment and engagement.
- Leverages TMOS and Lean tools to drive continuous improvement of key operational results. A key partner with CI and Maintenance Managers.
- Develops relationships with other functional partners to proactively work to minimize operational disruptions, improve quality, meet customer needs and drive a zero-defect culture.
- Works with planning and GMs to optimize scheduling, costs and throughput
- Key POC for engineering team and project execution
- Drives MOS and engagement activities on the floor. Owns execution of PIT projects with CI partner
- Team of 6 direct reports and 100+ hourly associates
- Interpret safety and quality policies to drive a zero defect policy
- Manages a staff of direct reports through regular performance reviews and developmental activities to ensure movement toward a high performance / high engagement organization, while assuring effective departmental performance.
- Leverages available data (line speed target, set-up guidelines, and efficiency and process data) to continuously improve productivity, uptime and reliability. Utilize the above information as a tool to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and product cost. Key partner with CI and Maintenance
- Leads the implementation and drives continuous improvement initiatives.
- Sets clear priorities and align resources to deliver against business and regulatory requirements in the areas of cost, financial controls, and quality, safety and business initiatives.
- Manage product quality by understanding and communicating customer needs to employees and ensuring expectations are consistently met and according to standard work.
- Determines schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel with key planning and warehouse/logistics partners.
- Diagnose equipment, ingredients and packaging issues; leveraging key CI tools to get to root cause. Acts with a bias for action and holds self, team and others accountable for meeting key deliverables.
- Coordinates with Engineering, Maintenance or others as appropriate to solve production-related problems.
- Ensures each manufacturing area is maintained in accordance with BRC & AIB standards.
- Ensures security of employees, facilities and information systems by following and enforcing established security procedures.
- Ensures clear and concise communication to all levels in the organization.
- Ensures regular safety inspections are conducted in all manufacturing areas.
- Key leadership role on the site steering committee team.
- 5-7 years of manufacturing experience, with a minimum three years of experience in a supervisory capacity OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelors Degree is preferred but not required
- Previous experience in Continuous Improvement / Lean environment strongly preferred.
- Aseptic experience and bottling experience is a plus.
- Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel, SAP.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills and delegation skills required.
- Ability to coach, mentor and develop others required. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
- CI or lean training, certification or leadership experience a plus
