The Cybersecurity Data Protection team at GEICO seeking a highly motivated Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will demonstrate their ability to think strategically and be innovative while working in an agile and collaborative team-oriented environment. The candidate must be comfortable working with analysts, developers, DevOps, and architects across multiple teams to collaboratively design creative solutions to complex problems. The candidate will support in proactively ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, stability, scalability, and performance. Must have intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn new skills and technologies along with an excellent work ethic and great communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Participate in proof of concepts and other technical evaluations of technologies, designs, and solutions
  • Mentor associates in groups and individually
  • Ability to understand complex problems while presenting them simplistically in a formal setting
  • Able to draft, interpret, and communicate policies, procedures, and technical requirements
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing requirements, and designing, building, and implementing complex projects that require collaboration with multiple teams
  • Serve as the team Subject Matter Expert (SME) as it pertains to the team's areas of responsibility (Data Protection)

Required Qualifications:
  • Desired 2 to 3 years' experience with database security activity monitoring and other security related initiatives as follows:
  • Understanding of various data types including structured, unstructured, relational, and non-relational data types
  • Experience in installation, configuration, and maintenance of software products
  • Experience in implementing data security solutions
  • Proven ability to evaluate and recommend information security enhancements, product upgrades, and tools to ensure minimal exposures to security incidents while considering business drivers and efficacy
  • Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with managing projects from design through implementation
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively
  • Must be extremely flexible and able to manage multiple concurrent tasks and priorities
  • Experience with automation, scripting, and/or software development
  • Experience with Azure portal, Azure Information Protection, Azure PowerShell, and Active Directory
  • Working Knowledge of Data Loss Prevention Security Concepts
  • Experience with Cloud Access Security
  • Working knowledge of SonarG and Veritas Data Insight or other related Data Protection Tools
  • Security Related Certifications such as (Security +, CISSP, SSCP, CySA+, GICSP)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or related field and two (2) years or more experience in Cybersecurity field.
