The GEICO Risk Management Team is responsible for managing risk which entails coordinating, facilitating awareness, mitigations, and solutions for information technology risk program elements to ensure that risk responsibilities are understood and carried out throughout the IT Enterprise.

GEICO's Site Resilience Team (SRE) as component team of Risk Management is looking for an ambitious Analyst/Engineer with self-learning ability, who is creative, innovative, has passion for exploring unknown territory, is not bound to limitations, can quantify and collaborate findings as to implement a risk reducing solution. This team seeks to establish, observe/identify, supervise and maintain an effective risk management framework that monitors, identifies, quantifies, mitigates and reports on risks throughout the enterprise. The candidate will also join forces with DevOps, Incident, Problem and Change Manage squads as to set direction, investigate major/serious incident crime scenes, and proactively researching log data for potential risks . Also, feed findings to the SRE Proving Ground testing team to validate hypothesis.

Responsibilities include:
  • Establish standards for measuring risks, identifying gaps and improving overall system performance and availability . Including the development of metrics that provide data for risk management indicators for future improvement opportunities
  • Develop improvement approaches within businesses and across lines of businesses that are holistic, customer focused with the understanding of reducing potential risks to the business within GEICO.
  • Provide advanced statistical analysis for business leaders, project teams, and managers as required. In addition, provide basic and advanced measurement approaches and mechanisms to ensure we are managing the process and producing the designed results
  • Support a continuous improvement process by providing recommendations on improving products, services, and processes.
  • Work in conjunction with Problem, Change Management and SRE Proving Grounds Teams identifying/testing potential risks to business.
  • Follow Agile best practices using ADO to track and quantify progress of work.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or in a quantitative discipline, such as statistics, data science, mathematics, engineering, physics, etc. Advance degrees preferred
  • 3+ years of experience working as a System Analyst, or product owner on technical projects (Software Development, DevOps, or Big Data).
  • Strong experience in Problem and change management Processes across IT organization.
  • Experience with Dynatrace, data fed to Splunk, Quantum Metrics, synthetic transactions.
  • Proven experience in implementing ITIL 3 & 4 frameworks or certification in the same area is a plus
  • Proven track record of identifying and implementing improvements to processes and projects in DevOps centric organization.
  • Proven track record of excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate ability to coordinate efforts across functional areas.
