The DSI Business Intelligence User Enablement team is seeking a highly motivated Power BI Developer who can work independently to support GEICO data and reporting analytics. You will work on a Scrum team to accurately estimate, strategically plan and execute high quality report development with complete documentation and thorough testing and validation. You will also help others in DSI and the business community to develop their own reports.

We support DSI and other internal GEICO departments in learning and using Power BI, DBT CLI, and Collibra software to provide a diverse, flexible, and efficient reporting community. This collaborative enablement helps GEICO better understand fundamental information on business and associate performance, among many other insights. You can be part of the DSI Business Intelligence User Enablement team, which plays a pivotal role in providing high quality, accurate data and reports into empowering insights and action, every day.

Qualifications:

Our work engages a diverse audience with all levels of customers with high visibility and exposure. The selected candidate will work with Power BI and legacy tools such as Qlik and MicroStrategy tools to help develop innovative reporting solutions using the Snowflake Data Hub.

Technical Experience/Skills Required:

  • Ability to independently envision and develop innovative reporting solutions with Power BI and execute through to completion
  • Ability to partner with a broad range of internal customers to understand their analytics needs and the business value they hope to achieve
  • Ability to define detailed analytics requirements and test strategies
  • Ability to support multiple stakeholders/projects simultaneously and work in a very fast-paced environment
  • Strong critical thinking, decision making, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiences is desired
  • Familiarity with report development life cycle and RDMS
  • Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in a computer related field, be willing to commit to actively pursue such a degree, or equivalent professional experience
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience with SQL query language and relational database concepts
  • 2+ years of experience documenting business and system requirements

Preferred Skills:

  • Passion for data discovery and a commitment to excellence
  • Knowledge of Qlik and MicroStrategy
  • Experience with coding/scripting varied query tools and languages
  • Familiarity with Collibra Data Governance tool
  • Familiarity with SQL queries using Snowflake SQL and/or similar tools to access data in Snowflake Data Hub.
