The GEICO Cryptography & Email Security team is seeking a candidate to fill a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer position to support GEICO's security technologies. The accepted candidate will play an important role in protecting GEICO from threats to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of GEICO's information and information systems. The ideal candidate will have a desire to work in a dynamic environment, have an excellent work ethic, have great communication skills, be willing to contribute as a team player and be a self-starter. The candidate must be able to think critically and perform under pressure, while understanding and meeting the needs of the business. The candidate will also participate in pro-actively ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, stability, scalability, and performance, and must have intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn new skills and technologies.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering with a focus on Certificate and PKI Management, Application Layer Encryption, and Email Security. The candidate should also have Enterprise level experience with practical cryptography concepts such as Key Management, Certificate Provisioning and Renewal, and maintaining TLS implementation standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Ensures the confidentiality, integrity and availability of GEICO's information and information systems

Provide daily support and perform administration, configuration, maintenance tasks for GEICO's data encryption systems, certificate management system, PKI, and secure email gateway

Perform investigations into security incidents

Provide guidance and support to our customers in the use of our systems

Provide support in ensuring that the security infrastructure is kept up to date with the latest version, patches, upgrades etc.

Responds to customer queries and issues directed to the Cyber Security Cryptography and Email Security team.

Provide 24 x 7 on-call support for GEICOs security infrastructure systems as needed

Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS:

BA/BS degree required, and at least five years working in an IT role or in developing, implementing or architecting information systems or infrastructure

Security Related Certifications such as (Security +, CISSP, SSCP, CySA+, GICSP)

Other Security or Networking certifications (desired)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years of experience in IT with a focus on practical cryptographic concepts

Education: BS Computer Science or relevant Engineering discipline desired

Understanding of current regulatory environment and related implications to security/audit compliance (SOX, PCI, ISO).

Ability to work independently and as part of a larger group comprised of different technical and business areas.

Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems

Understanding of Data Protection, endpoint security services, cryptographic services, networking components.

Awareness of the general IT security threat landscape including common vulnerabilities, exploits, social engineering, and malware.

Experience in end-to-end problem determination and troubleshooting system issues

Proficiency with PowerShell, Python or other scripting language

Excellent communications (written and oral), customer service and problem-solving skills
