Modern Software Developer, SeniorThe Challenge:

Are you looking for an opportunity to not just develop software, but to build highly visible systems that will directly support the security of our nation? Be a part of a team that is leveraging modern software development practices to transform mission critical capabilities supporting multiple Surface Combatant ship-classes.

This role is more than just coding. We need dedicated developers who will use their passion to deliver using the appropriate tools and techniques, identify and implement system improvements. Using Agile methodologies, modern languages and frameworks, cloud technologies, and microservice-based approaches, you'll work with the development team to build innovative, complex systems. You will analyze the needs and the environment to make sure the solution you're developing considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements. As a technical expert, you'll identify new opportunities to build digital solutions to help the Navy meet their toughest challenges.

You Have:
  • 4+ years of experience with web development experience
  • 2+ years of experience with configuration control, testing, security, automation, containerization, orchestration, and cloud services open-source technologies
  • Experience with database design and data modeling
  • Experience with Java or JavaScript
  • Knowledge of design patterns and architectural styles
  • Ability to deliver 2-days a week on-site in College Park, MD
  • Secret clearance required
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with contributing to a shared codebase
  • Experience with executing in an Agile development framework
  • Ability to evaluate and guide scalable, testable, and reliable architecture and subsequent development of a product, capability, or feature
  • Ability to work with other cross functional engineering teams to validate API, content and architecture decisions
  • Ability to share technical concepts with other engineers with ease, allowing the team to develop intuitive software that meets and exceeds the stakeholder needs
  • Ability to coordinate with product and project management to provide an understanding of the technical feasibility of new roadmap items

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
