Job Summary

We are looking for a Mid to Senior level MS SQL Database Administrator that will report to the Technical Operation Director. You will be responsible for management and support of the database server for both on-prem and on cloud environment. The DBA will primarily focus on the production environment but will also oversee the development environment. The DBA will lead the assessment and implementation of new technologies and administration of database installations, designing and scheduling of database backups, and be responsible for disaster recovery solutions. The DBA will work with a team of DBA's and Database Developers to support mission critical health care applications.

Primary

Responsibilitieswill include (but not be limited to):
  • 24x7 mission critical production environment support to achieve business goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with the development teams to develop and define database architecture of our systems
  • Ensure that all phases of technical documentation is completed and maintained
  • Enforce database standards and guidelines
  • Perform ongoing database administration along with performance tuning for both on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Design and build HA and DR solutions for MS SQL databases for on-prem and cloud platforms.
  • Support the data warehouse database in addition to OLTP systems
  • Create SQL scripts for data conversion, reports, data analysis and data patch

Required Experience / Qualifications:
  • BE or BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred
  • 3 years of DBA experience required, preferably 5 years
  • Experience working with MS SQL on Windows platform
  • Experience on managing PostgreSQL Server with Linux/Unix platform is a plus.
  • 1-2 years minimum experience in managing AWS cloud database platforms.
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in database operations support with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Experience with the installation, development, maintenance and enhancement of MS SQL and PostgreSQL RDBMS to support Agile development teams and mission critical production systems.
  • Create SQL scripts for data conversion, reports, data analysis and data patch.
  • Shell scripting and job automation experience
  • Clear communication with interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
  • Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience with SQL scripting (creating and implementing)
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Knowledge of NoSQL database and .net/c# application is a plus.

PreferredSkills:
  • MS SQL server, ETL and OLAP technology knowledge and practice
  • Knowledge and experience on AWS services, such as RDS, Aurora, EC2, etc.
  • Database tasks implementation experience in an Agile development environment
  • Experience with Data Conversion Strategy
  • Be able to understand, parse, and develop Json dataset
  • NoSQL database technology and practice
  • Database modelling experience
  • Leadership skills with team-oriented style
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work well with the team, and exercise sound judgement.
