Principal Responsibilities

The Instructional Designer/ LMS Coordinator will work within the Corporate training team to plan, design, and implement innovative training courses for an engaging learning experience for internal and external audiences.They will play a key role in supporting the Training & Development initiatives through content, eLearning design, and LMS Management.

The Instructional Designer responsibilities include:

Identify and plan appropriate instructional content design strategies and objectives, curriculum, learning activities, and assessment materials based on analysis of tasks, learners, and subject matter to engage and educate end-users on all systems and features, or other various topics, ensuring the content matches the learning and project objectives.

  • Support the development of training materials for instructors, such as instructional guides, participant materials, and PowerPoint presentations.

  • Confer with subject matter experts to identify and determine needs of the course and appropriate method of delivery based on what the learners or end-users need to learn.

  • Develop and publish interactive and engaging multimedia course content and instructional material for online delivery, including text, graphics, interactive elements, and rich media, using a variety of media and web content applications, including audio, and video capture programs.

  • Manage course development projects from inception to completion in accordance with instructional design and adult learning principles.

  • Work with the Corporate training team to determine, communicate, and manage the scope of a project, requirements, goals, and timeline.

  • Demonstrate and utilizes effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills, as well as adult learning principles.

  • Revise, rewrite, and structure content and activities for online learning needs.

  • Produce training videos that tour and demonstrate product features and embedding prompts to make the training interactive and enhance the user experience.

  • Researches and maintains an understanding of teaching methods and tools; pursues and utilizes knowledge of emerging technologies, tools, and trends in education and learning strategies.

  • Remains current with issues related to accessibility, compatibility, and emerging technologies, ensuring that all methods are compliant; and consults with instructors as needed.

The LMS Coordinator r

esponsibilities include:

Manage thekey functions of our company’s Learning Management System, FEI Learning.

The candidate we seek will be technologically literate and display exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Previous experience with Learning Management Systems is strongly preferred.

  • User Management includes user logins, user permissions, user groups, course enrollment and progress tracking, and communications to client and staff.

  • Develop and build a library of content for system trainings, including microlearning’s, user guides, job aids. Creatively cross reference content between system, state and topics.

  • Create a library of courses obtaining content from our central marketplace for FEI staff. Course Management includes detailing course information and assigning learners, generate standard and custom reports to analyze data and ongoing access.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and help end-users, resolve issues with the LMS vendor in a timely manner.

    Minimum Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience as an Instructional Designer in IT related field
  • Demonstrated expertise with Learning Management Systems, instructional design software, project management tools, and other technologies that support content development for live and eLearning formats is required.
  • Strong project management, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and demonstrate great attention to detail
  • Consult with SMEs on policy, procedure, systems, workflows, etc.
  • Analyze existing training materials
  • Design and create graphics for training
  • Restructure training content and troubleshoot on SharePoint
  • Narrate training videos, fulfilling the role of audio talent
  • Guide the organization on the arrangement and design of the LMS for each client.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology/Training or Organization Development related field
