We are currently in search of a Carpenter to join our seasoned team of professionals. This individual needs be a goal oriented team player, motivated to learn and committed to upholding the highest standards of quality construction and craftsmanship. The role of Carpenter will require the ability to coordinate multiple ongoing tasks with numerous team members including the Project Management Team, Jobsite Supervisors, other Winchester Employees and Subcontractors on a daily basis.

Under the direct supervision of the Jobsite Supervisor, this employee shall perform work as necessary to construct new homes and renovations to existing homes. This employee will often be paired with another member of the Winchester Team or a subcontractor, however will also be required to handle the responsibility of periodic independent working assignments. This employee may have occasional interaction with Clients and/or their representatives and should be capable of representing the company in a professional manner.

Winchester understands that candidates for the Carpenter role may have varying levels of skills based on past experience, and the company is committed to developing the right candidates to promote confident execution of the tasks required of this position. The items listed below under 'Responsibilities' provide a general outline of the types of tasks that you may be assigned, however you frequently will be paired with another, often more skilled Carpenter(s) to execute these tasks, providing an opportunity for growth and skill development.

Responsibilities:

Install exterior architectual millwork and trim inclusive of windows, doors , columns, siding, cornice, cornerboards, window and door trim, decking and exterior railings. While not a requirement, a general understanding of exterior flashings is advantageous.

Install interior architectural millwork and trim inclusivive of custom cabinet installation, hanging doors, installation of base molding, casing, crown molding, interior wall and ceiling paneling, simple stair construction (inclusive of handrails, and baluster systems), assist in setting appliances and custom panels, bath accessory installation, and hardware installation.

Work with Jobsite Supervisor to layout various elements of the project, and periodically construct mock-up samples for approval.

Periodically perform miscellaneous framing carpentry tasks from working alongside of the framing crew to installation of blocking, or modifying framing to accommodate the project scope.

Understand the scope of the work and address any questions and/or discrepencies with the Supervisor.

Exemplify safety for workers and subcontractors at all times. Proper inspection of all equipment to ensure that the company's saftey practices are being met.

Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as required or as assigned.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum of two (2) years residential carpentry/construction experience.

Must have a desire and willingness to learn the carpentry trade regardless of current experience level

Ability to work independently or in a group environment and capable of communicating clearly and professionally with co-workers and sub contractors while maintaining a positive attitude.

General knowledge of residential construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, and safety.

Detail oriented, well organized with an ability to plan ahead and envision all steps in an assigned task.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints or the ability and desire to learn such skill over time

Must have a customer service and customer satisfaction mindset

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation

Clean results from drug testing and background checks

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

Job requires the ability to perform tasks on all areas and aspects of a construction project, and may periodically require the need to climb and work off scaffolding, ladders or man lifts at varying heights

Job requires ability to work with tools, lumber, and general construction materials.

Moderate physical activity. Requires ability to bend frequently. Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80lbs. Standing and /or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
