The Government Contract Director oversees the entire lifecycle of contracts between a company and government agencies, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, managing contract terms, negotiating agreements, and monitoring project delivery to guarantee the successful provision of goods or services while adhering to government procurement guidelines. This role with manager the contracts team and will report to the General Legal counsel.Job duties to include but are not limited to;Lead and manage the contracts team to ensure its performing effectively and achieving its business goalsEnsure that legal contracts budget and resources are managed effectivelySupport the evaluation of new business opportunities in coordination with sales, programs, and other stakeholders, and provide contractual guidance on same.Working with Legal partner, lead proposal responses and contract negotiations, including:  efficient disbursement of contract requirements and term & conditions to appropriate stakeholders and owners to obtain SDI positions; ability to clearly and concisely communicate requests and actions to stakeholders and owners; prepare redlines reflecting SDI positions; and negotiate terms and conditions.Provide guidance to the business demonstrating your substantive knowledge of and experience with contracting process and contract interpretation.Support and drive efficient contract negotiation and execution with customers and subcontractors.Provide oversight of contract sign-off from appropriate stakeholders and maintenance of version control on all iterations of contracts internally and with clients.Serve as point-of-contact between SDI and customers, subcontractors and vendors on contract-related matters.Responsible for administration of federal government contracts and some state & local government contracts and support stakeholders on same, i.e., program team.Maintain complete contract records and ensure development/maintenance of contract management processes and procedures.Monitor contract life cycle including renewals, extensions, and close-outs.Working with Legal and appropriate stakeholders, identify and analyze risk and escalate appropriately.Collaborate with business and corporate compliance teams on contract compliance monitoring and audits.
