  • Summary:
    • The

      Computer Systems Analyst is responsible for the IT operation of NETC. Respond to the customer within prescribed time based on severity; to include Server and/or Storage Emergencies or IT needs. Maintain System Reports that indicate operational status of the Servers and all other computers. Using the Remedy System track and respond to tickets as assigned.

    • Perform systems management, analyzes and upgrades on FEMA IT systems.
    • Maintain information technology on multiple computers or network devices represented within an onsite system and/or a remote site.
    • Perform enterprise comprehensive patch management program, to include all patches, upgrades, and enhancements in accordance with FEMA configuration management procedures.
    • Monitor server application for availability, latency, security logs and gateway queuing. Monitor classroom training systems for performance and operation, avoiding any class downtime.
    • Maintain vendor upgrades and patches for both the server and client applications. Windows servers and domain controllers within an Active Directory forest and a child domain;
    • Provide full backup(s) and Continuity of Operations and Disaster Recovery; restore files and directories in response to user help desk requests, as a tier 2 level of support.
    • Store backup tapes in accordance with FEMA NETC IT procedures, and will integrate tape backup and restore activities into the disaster recovery process; and ensure data backup and transfer to the designated COOP facility in accordance with disaster recovery process.
    • Upgrade all hardware and software as new devices and software are pushed out, audit systems to be upgraded and ensure software and licenses are available to complete the upgrade.
    • Administer Microsoft Active Directory, DNS in an enterprise environment.
    • Maintain new and surplus equipment, inventory and / or and schedule the use of computer labs, conference rooms and auditoriums and work with instructors to determine exact requirements needed for successful completion of training.
    • Assist in the setup files storage and file shares with the proper permissions.
    • Create SOPs for areas of support to cover software, hardware and training specific requirements.

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • Associate's degree in related field or A+ Certification
  • 6 years' experience. (Selected candidate must have A+ certification or be able to obtain it within 90 days of start date)
  • DHS Public Trust Background

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to conduct research from reputable sources
  • Knowledge of Emergency Management and Emergency Services (EM/ES) topics.
  • Familiarity with e-mail subscription management systems such as GovDelivery is a plus.
  • SharePoint experience
  • Knowledge of: WSUS, Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery imaging software, CA ARCServe Backup, Remedy, HP SmartStart for HP ProLiant Servers with Windows Server 2003 and 2008, SMS, Symantec Alteris and SANS. . Windows XP, Windows 7, Group Policy and proprietary software such as HAZUS/ArcGIS, STAR.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Xerox Scanning, Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Reader, Symantec Endpoint Protection and Cisco Catalyst switches which utilize CiscoWorks software.
  • Ability to work in a Microsoft Office applications environment, especially Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and Holidays as required to support customer.
