The candidate will provide technical leadership in the planning, investigation, design, and implementation of physical and logical communications solutions having network-wide impact. Administer and secure switchers, routers, and firewalls for a TCP/IP based network. Work with the team, the customer, and vendors to define, analyze, and provide solutions for the customer's data communications requirements. Evaluate projected corporate network usage and implement solutions. Configure, install, maintain and manage firewall security appliances (Palo Alto). Maintain and manage ACLs, VPNs, policies and various network device configurations.RESPONSIBILITIES- Analyze and assess equipment and performance degradation, to include packet analysis, determination of hardware, software, networking and/or other technical changes necessary to verify restoration of service and meet operational requirements.- Troubleshooting network problems, identifying probable cause, taking corrective action, updating documentation and making written recommendations to prevent problems from recurring. - Continuously monitoring the network and proactively making recommendations to improve performance while resolving and/or preventing potential problems.- Verify the posture of the LAN and all equipment on it adheres to the configuration management and security requirements that adhere to Federal mandates.- Responsive to the needs of the Team Lead providing recommendations and exploring options to improve system performance and overall security standards.- Cisco experience preferred- Extensive knowledge configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting VPNs, VLANs, firewalls, network monitoring tools, and tunnels.- Experience with Taclane's including GEMONE mgmt application- Certifications: Cisco: CCNA, CCNP Security+ or 8570 equivalentRequirements- Have an active TS/SCI - Bachelor's degree in technical field desired- Must have a minimum of 7 years progressive network engineering experience supporting Cisco products- Must have strong experience with IP addressing, VPN configuration and support, and remote access - Experience building and/or migrating/upgrading firewalls and switches across LAN and WAN configurations. Including experience maintaining build documents, network drawings, and data flow diagrams. - Implementing related federal security standards in production environments- Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills. - Professional attitude and commitment to providing high-quality service. - Must be highly reliable and dependableCOVID-19 continues to significantly impact our communities, families and employees.
