We are seeking highly motivated Telecommunications Engineers to join our team and leverage their technical expertise to create systems and tools that will be utilized to enhance the operation of intelligence. As the Telecommunications Engineer, you will advise, administer, and perform scientific projects to include planning, designing, and constructing specialized equipment, and ensuring adherence to sound engineering, and scientific standards and principles. Your responsibilities will include the following:- Providing hands-on support for all aspects of site systems
- Developing, supporting, and maintaining the technologies and capabilities to maintain the Sponsor's advantage in both information gathering and national defense
- Assisting in site surveys, system installations, configuration management, maintenance, modernization, and sustainment of a Global Enterprise SATCOM network
- Coordinating with the system engineering and dataflow efforts to ensure proper mission operations with minimal downtime
- Troubleshooting basic IP networks and assisting with the provisioning and installation of telecommunications equipment
- Assisting with the setup, testing, and integration of Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) SATCOM systems
- Installing and setting up interconnectivity between systems and subsystems
- Coordinating requirements with users and suppliers
- Providing Tier 2 support to telecommunications equipment
- Analyzing problems to determine technical solutions
- Identifying new and existing products, technologies, and/or architectures to solve design, development, and operational problems
- Identifying the types and functions of computer and telecommunications network elements, documenting their intercommunications, and mapping physical and logical target networks by graphing their communications
- Validating testing and quality assurance (QA) of information technology systems
- Conducting radio frequency (RF) site surveys and including results in the design and performance assessments of RF systems
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of engineering economics, mathematics, statistics, and physics
- Knowledge of RF spectrum allocations, electromagnetic wave propagation, and radio field strength measurements and tolerance
- Ability to perform the mathematical calculations required in the design and planning of telecommunications networks, systems, and equipment
- Understanding wide area networks (WANs), controller area networks (CANs), and local area networks (LANs) telecommunications systems, their components, and associated protocols and standards
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience with cabling (e.g., Cat5e, Cat6, etc.)
