This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601. The mission requires a strong offense and a steadfast defense. The offense collects, processes and disseminates intelligence information derived from foreign signals for intelligence and counterintelligence purposes. The defense prevents adversaries from gaining access to sensitive classified national security information.

The need to maintain our core Computer Science group is vital to provide the technical capabilities necessary to successfully execute NSA's mission. The increased complexity of supporting NSA's mission requires world class researchers, programmers, and system and operations developers who collaborate in teams in areas such as software engineering, information technology infrastructure, high performance computing, data science, cloud and system architectures, computer security, and networking in order to design, develop, and implement advanced tools, techniques, and systems on to NSA's infrastructure.

The National Security Agency (NSA) currently has opportunities for highly motivated Computer Systems Architects to design and build the information technology framework of the future across the NSA.

Computer Systems Architects at NSA use commercial and government developed hardware, software, networking, and security products to:

- drive information technology projects- produce compliance results for established project requirements and IT architecture - modernize IT architecture through analysis of research and introducing changes based on evolving project requirements- integrate industry trends, emerging technologies and standards, and new vendor features - collaborate with experts in technical and application teams to identify, evaluate, and recommend technical solutions to support project requirements- define and analyze data requirements, mapping legacy data stores and formats to logical and physical data models - propose standard ways for information transport between IT systems and stored within corporate knowledge databases- perform architectural alignment of the enterprise logical data model and physical data models
