The defense prevents adversaries from gaining access to sensitive of classified national security information. Responsibilities: The National Security Agency (NSA) currently has opportunities available for highly motivated High Voltage Technicians with industrial/commercial experience. This well-rounded team of professionals is responsible for high, medium and low voltage electrical power installations. Responsibilities include emergency and supplemental power generation, primary (HV/MV) and secondary (LV) electrical substations, overhead and underground power distribution, SCADA systems, digital and analog control systems, power protection equipment, large scale UPS systems, building services, switchgear, power conditioning equipment, as well as general lighting, grounding, and lightning protection systems.Description of Position:Operate and maintain high voltage electrical systems such as main switchgear, generators, uninterruptible power systems (UPS), power panels, lights, outlets, motors and controls operating at up to 115,000/230,000 volts. In addition, the candidate shall adapt work methods in response to new information, changing conditions, emergencies or unexpected obstacles. Have the ability to articulate viewpoints and answers to customers, peers, and supervisors in an effective manner, both written and orally. Identify and analyze technical issues, reporting, and documentation and attend project status briefings.
