Piper Companies is currently seeking a driven

Molecular Scientist to work on a federal subcontract in

Frederick, MD. The

Molecular Scientist will work within a fast-paced environment utilizing Next-Generation Sequencing.

Responsibilities for the Molecular Scientist:

• Perform DNA/RNA extraction on human samples in a CLIA-regulated environment

• Analyze and implement genomic programs to evaluate allied technologies

• Prepare samples to run on PCR (automated and manual) equipment

• Assist with accessioning and sample receipt

• Support assay development

• Upkeep and maintenance of lab equipment

• Keeping detailed records of completed activities

Requirements for the Molecular Scientist:

• 3+ years of experience with molecular techniques (Next-Generation Sequencing preferred but not required)

• Experience CLIA, CAP, and/or GLP regulations

• Prior experience with rtPCR and Cell Culture

• Bachelor's degree in Biology or a relevant field

Compensation for the Molecular Scientist:

• Salary $60,000 - $70,000 based on relevant years of experience
