If you have what it takes, call me for an interview ASAP: Bianca Bayas, / Description: Title: Simulation & Analysis Engineer Are you an experienced engineer that has a passion to use simulation to optimize the develop of future powertrains for Volvo and Mack trucks? Who We Are Our team is part of the North American Powertrain Engineering (PE) organization. PE is responsible for full development of the driveline for Volvo and Mack products. The majority of the development currently focuses on conventional powertrain (combustion engine, transmission, and axles). However, focus on the development of the next generation powertrains such as electric and fuel cells is growing every day. We stand in front of a significant challenge to develop transportation solutions with continuous reduction of CO2 emissions with a long-term goal of delivering only fossil free vehicles. In this position, you will use simulation to accelerate the development of heavy-duty Mack and Volvo trucks and buses. This includes conventional, electric and fuel cell powertrains. What You Will be Doing You will work as an engineer on our Simulation and Application Engineering Team within Powertrain Engineering. You will be responsible for: Creating powertrain models using GT power, MATLAB/Simulink and similar simulation tools Developing software in the loop models for software verification and development. Collaborate with technology engineers who own the software functionality and components. You will work together to optimize the design using simulation. Interface with new product development projects to provide simulation results for concept selection. Interfaces with the maintenance organization to provide simulations results to solve product quality problems. Implement improvement and new features into the production software/simulation environment Conducts tests in the laboratory and/or field to acquire data needed for simulation development and validation. Document simulation development, validation, and results in engineering report Communicate results to project, technical teams, and management Our team also conducts data analysis on both production and test data. Assisting with overflow work in this area is a possible task depending on your background. Who You Are You have a passion to reduce leadtime, cost and optimize design using simulation. You are an experienced engineer that is proficient in preparing both 1D and software in the loop models. You excel at collaborating with software and component owners to optimize the product design using simulation. You strive for continuous improvement of simulation tools and capabilities. You are proficient in planning, directing and execute technical projects. Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or similar technical field required. Master's degree in technical field strongly preferred 5-10 years relevant powertrain development experience or 1-5 years with MS/PHD. Experience in internal combustion engine development and optimization is preferred. Proficient in GT power, Matlab/Simulink or similar tools Experience with programming for data analysis using SQL, Python, R, MATLAB, Apache spark or equivalent language is preferred Understand of diesel engine calibration process. This includes combustion and after treatment control is a plus Understanding of OBD monitor development is a plus Experience in electric or fuel cell powertrains is a plus
