Job Description

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead System Administator to join our Minotaur team in Hanover, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration and be responsible for leading a small team of system administrators in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our systems. This position will support a mission management tool called the Minotaur Mission Processor. Minotaur ingests data from various sensors on manned and unmanned surveillance aircraft to enhance an operator's ability to identify tracks from various on-board sensors, from both sea and land, that is utilized in all branches of the military. Roles & Responsibilities Include

  • Lead a small team of system administrators to maintain the reliability, security, and efficiency of our systems
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for system administration
  • Plan and execute software upgrades, patches, and security fixes in a timely manner
  • Manage and monitor system performance, capacity, and availability to ensure maximum uptime
  • Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot complex problems related to systems and applications
  • Work closely with corporate IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems
  • Keep up-to-date with new technologies and trends in system administration and provide recommendations for improving our infrastructure
  • Manage and configure local and remote-site network switches and Fortinet Fortigate VPN endpoints

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors Degree in a related field; or 8 years of relevant experience with a Masters Degree in a related field
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems (e.g. Linux, Windows) and virtualization technologies (e.g. VMare, Hyper-V)
  • Experience leading a team of system administrators and managing projects
