Senior Revenue Accountant Position Summary Client of Apex Systems is located in the city of Baltimore, MD, and specializes in upstream and downstream process development of viral vectors for clinical applications. At this facility we are looking for the Senior Revenue Accountant who will maintain full ownership of the revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and will lead the month-end closing and reporting processes related to revenue recognition and Serve as audit liaison for both internal and external audits.
This role will have significant exposure the Senior Finance Leadership as well the Client's Corporate Finance Leadership including Controllers and Chief Accounting Office. - Preparation of monthly accounting entries related to revenue, deferred revenue, contract assets and related accounts
- Reconciling inputs from project management and customer contracts and ensuring accuracy
- Preparing various schedules/work papers to accurately report, revenue, deferred revenue, contract assets and related accounts
- Support mainlining appropriate audit evidence/documentations
- Assist the Site Finance Leadership on various revenue recognition matters to support in strategic decision making
- Lead the month-end closing and reporting processes that relates to revenue recognition including liaising with the Client's Corporate Finance team.
- The role will be required to work at least 3 days onsite in Baltimore, MD
- Strong work ethics and passion to learn new skills
- Experience within financial reporting function of a private or public entity with an ability to understand US GAAP/SEC or other accounting standards.
- Experience in public accounting (Audits, consulting etc.) is a strong plus
- Experience with ASC 606 is a strong plus
- Bachelor's in accounting or Finance
- CPA, CMA, CFA is strongly preferred
- 4+ years' experience
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with firm deadlines
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication (verbal and writing) skills and be able to communicate with leadership in effective manner
- Strong research & analytical and Excel skills
