Graphic Designer- NAWCAD (NAWCAD-22-0158-F):

Bowhead is seeking to network with a Graphics Designer for a potential upcoming requirement in support of the Corporate Operations Department, Corporate Communications Division at Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD). Essential functions for the Graphics Designer include, but are not limited to: Designs art and copy layouts for material to be presented by visual communications media such as books, magazines, newspapers, Internet websites, television, and packaging. Prepares materials manually or by utilizing graphic software to design and produce finished artwork or product. Plans content, graphic aspects, and presentation of material, product, or service. Creates graphic material and lettering to be used for title, background, screen advertising, commercial logo, or other visual layouts for Internet websites, printed materials, motion picture production, television, or other media. Determines style, technique, and medium best suited to produce desired effects and conform to reproduction requirements, or receives specific instructions regarding these variables. Formulates concept and renders illustration and detail from models, sketches, memory, and imagination. Responsibilities: • Meet with clients or the art director to determine the scope of a project • Use digital illustration, photo editing software, and layout software to create designs • Create visual elements such as logos, original images, and illustrations to help deliver a message • Design layouts, including selection of colors, images, and typefaces • Present design concepts to clients or art directors • Incorporate changes recommended by clients or art directors into final designs • Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them Requirements In accordance with Executive Order 14042: Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors, candidates should be aware that they may be required to have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire. Education: BS or BA degree in graphic design or a related field. Allowable Substitution: AS or AA degree in graphic design and two (2) years of experience. Experience: At least three (3) years of experience. Experienced in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, PC and Mac operating systems, graphic design. Proficient writing skills desired. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
