In this role, you will be responsible for developing cloud-native AWS software, troubleshooting problems, implementing solutions, and monitoring the effectiveness of the databases. You will be working to build a new cloud-native application within the NOAA native-cloud platform. You will be working in an exciting, fast-paced, agile team to build a project from the ground up. In this role, you will serve as a member of the NASA Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Ground Project, Data Products and Management Services (DPMS) team leading the development and maintenance of the Product Data Quality System (PDQS). Currently we are a remote/hybrid with 1 day in office. JPSS is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) next-generation operational Earth observation program that acquires and distributes global environmental data primarily from multiple polar-orbiting satellites. The program plays a critical role to NOAA's mission to understand and predict changes in weather, climate, oceans and coasts, and the space environment, which support the Nation's economy and protect lives and property. The activities for this work require a qualified full stack engineer with programming expertise to support the software development and maintenance tasks. The candidate must have experience and skill in implementing work projects, closely coordinating technical efforts with other team members and with the customer to maintain alignment of required activities including developing solutions, collaborative development, progress and reporting Job Duties:- Analyze and dissect system requirements and technical specifications to create and execute cutting edge cloud-native AWS solutions
- Develop full-stack applications using AWS managed services and TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js
- Understanding and experience developing the entire stack - web to db
- REST API connectivity integration
- Ability to function in ambiguity and adapt to rapid changes common in early-stage product development.
- Prepare and produce releases of software components
- Work with the scrum teams, systems team, and development managers to refine a strategy for releasing components and reducing dependencies
- Work in a cross-functional teamwork with good communication skills

- Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience
- B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent degree
- 5+ years of relevant Cloud experience
- Microservice development including containerization and API & rest/restful-API
- Hands-on cloud experience in implementing CI/CD pipeline
- Workflow engine to process data
- Agile Development
- Knowledge of cloud tools used for DE, DevOps and CI/CD.
- Strong & proven frontend UI development skills with a javascript framework, e.g. Angular, React.js
- Strong Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (preferably TerraForm) and Kubernetes
- Ability to craft well designed testable, efficient scripts - shell scripting, Perl, ANT, Python
- Strong demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Prior experience with build and deployment automation
- AWS Certified Developer , AWS API Gateway, Microservices, Workflow engine, Gitlab CICD, Kubernetes, Docker, Java, Angular/React.js, Spring Boot, Rest API, shell scripting
- Maven, JIRA, Launchpad, Github, TerraForm, Agile, Jenkins, EC2, Unix basics and SQL, Splunk, Node.js
