Expertise and Functions

  • Demonstrates subject matter expertise in two or more of the following measurement disciplines: Radio and Microwave Frequency, Alternating & Direct Current, Time and Frequency, and Electro-Optical precision measuring equipment and systems
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the functions, principles, theories, concepts, techniques, and methodology of metrology/calibration systems
  • Demonstrates knowledge and mastery of qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques and evaluation methods used for the assessment and improvement of processes and/or product quality
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the requirements found in the International Standard for Metrology and Calibration 'General Requirements for Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories' ISO 17025
  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience with the development of Calibration Requirements Analyses and/or Instrument Calibration Procedures
  • Demonstrates skill in oral and written communication necessary to develop and present reports of work accomplished including Metrology Engineering Projects and related Metrology Engineering Investigations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education/Training (both required and desired):
    • Bachelor's Degree in relevant engineering or science discipline required
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of professional experience in the required task area
    • Demonstrates expertise in:
      • Development, test, application, or in-service engineering of precision measuring, test or aviation support equipment
      • Developing test or calibration procedures and systems
      • Performing analysis and derivation of measurement uncertainty analysis
      • Familiar with application of test and measuring equipment in maintenance, operations, calibration or repair environments
    • Quality assurance, quality control, and independent verification and validation techniques
  • Security:
    • Must be a US citizen
    • Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
