The UNIX/LINUX Systems Engineer will install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software and hardware related problems. They will also be tasked with performing system backups and recovery as well as maintaining data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. The UNIX/LINUX Systems Engineer will assist with securing and hardening infrastructure technologies to FDA Scientific Computing and to create/maintain system procedural and technical documentation. This role does allow someone to occasionally work remotely but does require someone to be onsite a couple of days a week. More specifically, the candidate will:- Have strong UNIX/LINUX fundamentals along with familiarity of UNIX/LINUX/Windows Command Line Interface (CLI)
