RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client in Nottingham, MD that is seeking a Network Engineer.

Responsibilities: Network Engineer will provide 3rd level technical support to clients and to technical teams within the company to resolve network issues and to support the implementation of new network solutions Evaluate new technology and brings opportunities forward that would improve the future network architecture, performance, and network services Ensure full compliance of company's Key Controls and Technical Service Requirements for all network architecture, designs, and implementations both past and present Network Engineer will ensure all changes go through appropriate review, change control, and acceptance before implementation Assist with the development, testing and QA functions to ensure that projects are securely delivered and fulfill expectations Proactively monitor the environment to ensure network optimization using tools such as Solarwinds, Wireshark and Meraki Cloud portal tools Network Engineer will work with the Information Security team to ensure solutions deployed meet company's security requirements and provides technical assistance for investigation and analysis of security alerts Develop processes and procedures for use by the Network team and third parties in the management of network environments

REQUIREMENTS: At least five (5) years of related experience in infrastructure/network environments and designing, planning, documenting and implementing LANs and WANs using latest technology Strong experience supporting an SD-WAN environment and enterprise level data centers Experience with network hardware, specifically Cisco wireless technology, Meraki routers and switches, Cisco Nexus for data center, and campus technology Expertise with IP routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP Experience in high-availability networks in load-balanced, n-tier application environments Able to clearly and correctly express complex technical concepts in English, both verbally and in writing Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to multi-task, change direction, affectively prioritize, and meet deadlines Ability to occasionally adjust work schedule to meet business needs (standard is 40 hour per week, with occasional after hours and weekend requirements) Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with both local and remote staff, teammates, and managers

Preferred: Expertise on IP Technologies Knowledge of WAN technologies such as MPLS, ATM and Frame Relay a plus Experience supporting an active/active multi-data center environment Knowledge of Cisco encryption technologies (IPSec, SSL), and hot standby protocols HSRP and VRRP a plus
