PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Researches and analyses complex IT asset management and financial issues as necessary or in response to managements’ request and presents results to management as required as the SME. Support and assist with all aspects of the annual IT budget development and ongoing management of spend against budget. Initiates, creates and develops IT asset management and IT financial metrics, statistics, reports, budgets, and research and analysis. Assists others with less experience.
  • Leads complex projects. Projects can be on-going or new with emphasis on research, analysis, planning and coordination of disparate functional and technical areas inside and outside the company, including external vendors. Partner with Asset Owners within IT to ensure compliance and end of life strategies are created and in effect. Ensure that Enterprise Asset Management tools are kept up to date and that the data between the tools are aligned. Collaborate with colleagues in Supply Chain Management to proactively manage license use and renewals of software contracts. Delegates project responsibilities as necessary.
  • Initiates and designs complex department communications, policies and procedures for both internal and external usage, coordinates internal reporting requirements for the department, creates presentations for management, educates teams and management on issues, policies and procedures where appropriate. Produce periodic/ad hoc reports as required (e.g. upcoming renewals on a monthly basis for IT management review). The Associate will be responsible for documenting existing IT asset management and financial management processes, procedures and associated policies for use, as well as expanding or modifying as necessary. May be involved with RFPs and vendor management.
  • Initiates issue resolution using creative techniques or documented facilitation techniques to improve productivity as the SME. Ensure that internal license requests are authorized and that existing available licenses are allocated before additional licenses are purchased. Identify and communicate over deployment issues are license re-harvesting opportunities due to over purchasing. Performs IT support responsibilities as requested or as necessary. As a SME, assists less experienced associates with project management and analytical skills. Continues to increase IT knowledge to provide enhanced recommendations to management. Document processes and identify areas to further mature the overall program
  • QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Accounting or Finance or directly related equivalent work experience and over 5-8 years of progressively responsible experience in the Information Technology asset management or financial services industry with experience in direct analysis and reporting experience. Position progression must include direct financial accountability. Experience understanding budgets, ordering, invoicing, billing systems and cost centers. Individual must have demonstrated projects reflecting initiative, creativity as well as a team player. Experience with an Enterprise grade Asset Management tool. The individual must exhibit an excellent knowledge of strategy, organization, and process within a company context with a focus on information technology asset and financial management to effectively manage IT assets throughout each phase of their lifecycle - acquisition through retirement. An excellent knowledge of methodologies, system development, budgeting issues, project management, and information technology performance metrics is required.

    Skills: Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills are required. Other requirements are interpersonal skills, exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (including EXCEL and Power Point), Internet browsers and project management tools. Must be technologically experienced in office equipment/computers.

    Preferred: College Degree in IT, Finance or related field, CF experience, CF IT experience, consulting background.
