Senior Environment Manager Role OverviewResponsible for setting and implementing test and non-production environment management strategy, including defining the associated services and service levels needed to meet work plan and operational needs.Accountabilities/Scope Define the organisational level test and non-production environment strategy so that it meets the needs of testing, development and operational support teams, and aligns with the broader business strategy. Undertakes the detailed definition of the scope of services provided. Definition and management of appropriate OLAs and SLAs to satisfy the needs of projects and operations. Manage Partners and 3rd party suppliers to ensure Environment Management SLAs are met. Highlight environment risks and clashes. Identify and implement industry processes and methodologies. Act as the main point of contact for senior stakeholders, providing subject matter expertise on the provision of test and non-production environments. Represent Environment Management in Service Transition strategy discussions. Leadership and Management of a team of Environment Managers and Environment Analysts both partner and 3rd party. Be accountable for actions and decisions taken by self and subordinates. Establish team/project objectives and delegate responsibilities. Able to consistently achieve right results in a changing environment. Consistently perform highly complex work activities including financial, quality and technically skilled aspects. Understand and consistently represent the role and impact of IT in the Partnership; contribute to the formulation of IT Strategy. Proactively assess and evaluate risk; manage significant risks and guide others in same task. Knowledge and Experience
  • Establishing and managing the environment management capability as per the agreed demand process
Experience of delivering Environment Management within an organisation with large scale IT and Business change. Experience of working with 3rd parties with a mixed onshore/offshore model. Experience of developing SLA and OLAs to support environments with a mix of internal and external infrastructure and application providers. Understanding of Test Methodologies. Understanding of IT Infrastructure including Servers, Middleware and Networks. Understanding of APWIDE solutioning tool to setup environment management A good understanding of the Software development life-cycle supporting both Agile and Waterfall. ITIL Service Management knowledge and experience including change, configuration, release, incident and problem management in a non-production environment. IT Project Management methods. IT Governance processes. Portfolio management processes. Experienced with Stakeholder management at a senior level. Candidates from external organisations should have experience working as a Head of Environments or Senior Environments Manager. Tools experience such as Jenkins, Azure, Puppet, SNOW, Jira, advantageous.
