Senior Product Manager

Senior Product Manager The Product Manager will work in our client's Enterprise Data Platforms group which includes products covering the full data lifecycle: ingestion, storage, cataloging, sharing, and authorization. Teams in our group develop platform-level services central to our client's cloud-based data lake that processes 100s of billions of market events daily. The position is on a newly formed team created to improve data discovery, streamline the path to data access for analytics, and centralize the management of data authorizations. This work involves expanding our client's metadata catalog and services; re-imagining how data permissions work across the enterprise; and integrating with distributed compute engines like Spark and Presto that power our cloud analytics.

Job Responsibilities: • Define product roadmap by working with internal customer community and stakeholders • Use modern practices such as human-centered design and Lean Startup for product discovery, definition, and development • Write user stories that capture intent and acceptance criteria; groom stories with team to achieve shared understanding • Partner with engineering and quality leaders to deliver at the story and roadmap level • Develop business proposals that make a compelling case for continued investment in your products • Be the leading expert in your products - evangelize within our client's growth, write high-quality documentation, and provide excellent customer support • Build expertise in related spaces - cloud data lakes, AI/ML, metadata management

Qualifications: • 5-8 years in product roles for data-centric products; or less and an MBA or advanced degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related • Significant experience and depth of knowledge around REST APIs and SQL queries • Demonstrated deep understanding of data platform, data engineering and/or analytics technologies and organizations • Worked in agile environment where the team defines stories collaboratively, commits to delivering working software every iteration, and improves through retrospection • Experience building influence in an organization by learning customer needs, working collaboratively to define solutions, and building products that deliver • Strong writer and public speaker comfortable in front of executives and customers
