Job Description

Implements a process of ongoing monitoring that contributes to continuous improvement and ensures child safety and the delivery of effective, high quality program services.

1.Assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of system for program-wide approach to ongoing monitoring and self-assessment. Includes center and, where applicable, home base and partner services.

2.Monitor effectiveness of operations, program progress and adherence to compliance through observation, data analysis, record reviews, interviews and other methods. Recommends and implements improvements. Document monitoring activities.

3.Ensure that monitoring is completed following protocol and includes: pre-monitoring preparation, on-site debriefing and monitoring follow-up.

4.Ensure all reports and follow-up actions are entered into database. Use reporting for trend analysis. Identify and report strengths and concerns to mobilize resources and mitigate risk.

5.Composes and proofreads correspondence and reports.

6.Provides training and technical assistance to program staff.

7.When in centers, protects the safety of children by implementing active supervision techniques to ensure no child is left alone or unsupervised at any time.

8.Audits quality of both file and electronic data and uses metrics to document ongoing progress towards desired program outcomes.

9.Ensures the mobilization and documentation of matching/in-kind funds.

10.Participates in staff meetings, committees and training sessions.

11.Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

12.Develop and document progress on professional development plan. Facilitates and engages in professional development activities to increase qualifications in accordance with Corporation’s Core Values.

This position has no direct supervisory duties but is considered a subject matter resource for others. This position involves quality control and training.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, Business Administration or related field.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.

Must be able to get certification for CPR and First Aid after hire and recertify as required.

Must have a willingness to work towards any additional credentials needed to move to the next level in the position, this may include continued education.

Experience in Head Start required.

Monitoring experience preferred.

Experience providing adult training preferred.

Must have own transportation, a valid driver’s license, and vehicle insurance.

Skills and Abilities:

Microsoft Office products and on-line client management systems.

Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Ability to determine and prioritize demanding workload while being flexible to emergent/unplanned needs and situations.

Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Ability to interpret complex policies and regulations.

Additional Information

This job is a mixture of desk work and standing and walking for long periods of time while visiting the community.

Driving/sitting for prolong periods of time.Occasional exposure to adverse weather conditions.

Subject to long periods of sitting and exposure to computer screen.

Keyboarding and data entry, use of telephone.
