Our government client is looking for a Mid-level Red Hat Engineer to join their team.Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. We offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.Responsibilities of the Mid-level Red Hat Engineer:- Maintain operations and upkeep of the Red Hat Server environment
- Maintain the appropriate DOD Cyber compliance level via patching and configuration using DISA STIGs
- Work with project managers, developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet business needs
- Maintain backups and help with annual contingency tests and security reviews
- Evaluate new and existing software products for monitoring systems
- Install and configuring new hardware and software
- Provide technical leadership to mid and junior engineers
- Add, remove, or update user account information, resetting passwords, etc
- Answer technical queries and assist developers and end users
- Responsible for security of the Linux system
- Document the configuration of the systems
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 4 years of prior relevant experience
- Hands on system administration with Linux / Red Hat experience
- Background in Linux Tools
- Familiarity with large scale operational environments
- Must have troubleshooting background
- Ability to answer at all hours to operational requirements
- Ability to work outside normal hours during routine maintenance windows
