Job Description
The Bear institute at Children's National Health System is seeking an Infrastructure Systems Engineer II with focus on Linux Systems. You will collaborate with the Infrastructure Team to administer, engineer, develop and maintain standards, guiding principles in alignment with the security architecture and design standards with business strategy, service delivery, and client and vendor relationships.Manage implementation of key technologies in Linux Systems, AWS Cloud, vSphere, Data Center Networking, Load BalancersCreate diagrams and documentation with all components that comprise IT systems including network topology with security measures and vulnerabilitiesWork closely with engineers, architects, and subject matter experts to develop and deliver complete solutions with ability to resolve complex issues in creative, efficient, and effective waysDevelop and maintain the technology roadmap for Linux infrastructure areas along with a strong hands-on technical expertise to help facilitate proof of concepts.Qualifications Basic Qualification:At least 7 years of total combined higher education and related work experience, including:- 3 years of Linux Information Systems Engineering work experience
- 7 years of higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job including:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent relevant work Experience
- 5 years of Information Systems Engineering work experience with extensive knowledge and familiarity with Linux Systems, Virtualization, Storage, Networking and AWS Cloud
- Experience in Linux Systems such as Redhat, CentOS, Ubuntu
- Experience in Automation such as Ansible, CloudFormation, Puppet, Shell Scripts
- Experience with AWS Cloud - Organizations, Account Deployment, Administration, Maintenance and Security, EC2, S3, Custom Linux AMI creations with CIS benchmark, SecurityHub
- Experience Server Stacks such as Cisco UCS Blades and Rackmounts, Dell PowerEdge, HP ProLiant, FlashStack
- Experience with administering VMs in VMware vSphere with knowledge of supported technologies NSX-T, vSAN, vROPs, vRNI, vRLI
- Knowledge of Networking Technologies, Cisco ACI, Citrix Netscaler
- Knowledge of Zerto Migration Tool
- Knowledge of service management frameworks such as ITIL
- Industry certifications preferred but not required: RHCSA, RHCE, AWS SAA, AWS SAP, VCP, CCNA, CCNA-RS, and ITIL
- Understanding/Knowledge of global security frameworks and standards like NIST, CIS, FIPS, HIPAA
- Experience in Information Systems Infrastructure for large Healthcare Enterprise
- Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
- Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
- Analyze current business and technology practices, user needs, and workflow processes
- Represent the team as a participating member of designated committees
- Serve as a subject matter expert associated with content, processes, and procedures associated with Linux infrastructure system and datacenter
- Participate in 24x7 on call rotation and be available for after-hours support
