PARK RANGER (7 vacancies) ($12 to $13 / hour)
Point Lookout State Park
A Seasonal Park Ranger is a temporary, introductory level of work in the operation of a State park. Work is performed indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions. Applicants must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled. Duties may vary for each facility and generally include, but are not limited to:
Provide visitors with park information and regulations
Register campers
Monitor and cleaning of campgrounds, bath houses and restrooms
General maintenance of park trails, public facilities, staff buildings and DNR vessels and vehicles
Monitor recreational activities in the park, including but not limited to hunting, fishing, hiking and biking
Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs.
PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER ($11 to $12 / hour)

St. Clements Island State Park (1 vacancy)
Newtowne Neck State Park (3 vacancies)
The Seasonal Park Maintenance position is responsible for the maintenance of grounds, facilities and equipment in a park or recreation area. Work is performed indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions. Applicants must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled. Duties may vary for each facility and generally include, but are not limited to:
Clean restrooms, shelters and campsites
Refill bathroom supplies
Removal of litter
Maintenance of facilities and grounds
Mow and trim grass
Painting, electric, carpentry and plumbing work
Upkeep of vehicles, equipment and vessels
Use of hand tools and operation of power equipment
Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs.
PARK NATURALIST (4 vacancies) ($11 to $12 / hour)
Point Lookout State Park
The Seasonal Park Naturalist develops and leads interpretive programming at a State Park. Work is performed indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions. Applicants must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled. Duties may vary for each facility and generally include, but are not limited to:
Develop and present interpretive and environmental education programs
Assist with volunteers and youth programs
Develop and maintains exhibits, park bulletin boards and educational materials
Advise the public of general park rules and regulations
Operation and maintenance of nature centers, buildings and grounds
May include live animal care and handling associated with the Scales and Tales program
CONTACT STATION ATTENDANT / CAMPER CONTACT ATTENDANT
Point Lookout State Park (8 vacancies) ($11 to $11.25 / hour)
The Contact Station Attendant / Camper Contact Attendant is responsible for welcoming visitors to the park, collecting various service charges and/or registering campers. Work is performed indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions. Applicants must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled. Duties may vary for each facility and generally include, but are not limited to:
Answer phones / provide information to visitors
Register campers
Operate a computer reservation system
Handle money and provide change
Assist with facility upkeep and maintenance
LIFEGUARD LAKE OR BAYFRONT BEACH
Point Lookout State Park (12 vacancies) ($13 to $15 / hour)
The Lake / Bayfront Beach Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring visitors have a safe and enjoyable recreational experience. Work is performed indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions. Applicants must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled. Duties may vary for each facility and generally include, but are not limited to:
Provide safe water-based recreation for park patrons
Provide visitors with information and park regulations
Maintain the beach area, to include trash and litter removal
Provide emergency care
Prepare written reports
Must possess current certifications in lifeguarding, CPR and standard first-aid. Candidates may be certified after hire.
CONCESSION ATTENDANT
Point Lookout State Park (6 vacancies) ($11 to $11.25 / hour)
The Concession Attendant provides information to visitors about park facilities, programs and regulations. Work is performed indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions. Applicants must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled. Duties may vary for each facility and generally include, but are not limited to:
Operate a cash register in the sale of park merchandise
Maintain inventory of supplies, materials and products
Complete required reports
Administer canoe and kayak rentals
Assist with litter pickup near concession facility
CONCESSION MANAGER
Point Lookout State Park (1 vacancy) ($11 to $12 / hour)
The Concession Manager manages merchandising of park-specific items for sale in a park camp store, beach area store or boat area store. Work is performed indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions. Applicants must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled. Duties may vary for each facility and generally include, but are not limited to:
Operate a cash register in the sale of park merchandise
Prepare and cook food
Clean camp store
Stock merchandise
Order merchandise for sale and maintain inventory
Assist park visitors
BILINGUAL INTERPRETER (1 vacancy) ($11 to $12 / hour)
The Bilingual Interpreter will communicate with and assist Spanish-speaking park visitors. Work is performed indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions. Applicants must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled. Duties may vary for each facility and generally include, but are not limited to:
Develop and lead nature programs and hikes
Provide general customer service and park information to visitors
Communicate with visitors while assisting with park operations (e.g. beach patrol, search and rescue, traffic control)
Develop program advertisements and assist with public relations
