Support needed for a petite, active and pleasant young woman (age 29) with disabilities who lives with her parents in Indian Head, MD. Applicants who have a med tech certification are highly desirable.
Tasks include assistance with activities of daily living such as eating, bathing, medication and some assistance with toileting. In addition, staff will be supporting the young woman in physical activities such as walking in the neighborhood several times per day, swimming, visiting nearby parks and libraries, volunteering, shopping and participating in daily household chores. Care provider will be asked to help connect young woman to her community, particularly in Indian Head and Charles County. Young woman lives with her parents who will train and mentor staff. Part time and full time positions.
Female staff who have a car are invited to apply for this DDA-funded position. Applicants will need to have or can obtain the required certifications in First Aid, CPR, pass a background check, and some staff will need to get a medical technician certification (all fees will be reimbursed). Staff will be trained in young womans communication style (simple ASL signs, pictures, etc.), and will be trained to implement a vigorous walking program. Competitive hourly rate.
