We are currently searching for a Heavy Equipment Operator to work within our Transportation division in Maryland. In this role, you will be responsible for operating: Mini-Excavators, Rubber Tire Backhoes, Skid Steers, and Digger Derricks. Must have a valid CDL A or B.
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
Operate heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist in job layout, checking grade, scheduling and ordering of materials.
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment.
Some travel may be required.
Some overtime may be required.
Heavy Equipment Operator Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.
Able to read and follow design plans and specifications.
Must be positive, and customer-service oriented.
Able to operate mini-excavators, skid steers, backhoes, and digger derricks.
Follow all safety procedures on job site and report violations to manager.
Maintain equipment and job site to eliminate possible hazards.
Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate
locations, according to project plans or specifications.
Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed.
Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks,
shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.
Provide assistance to other crew members.
Education / Skills:
Must possess CDL
