DESKTOP SUPPORT MANAGER (USCB-21-1417-F): Bowhead is seeking a multiplatform (Windows / OS X) Tier II Lead to lead a Tier 2 Technical team in support of the U.S. Census Bureau. This manager will be leading a diverse staff and providing computer support needed to enable the Census Bureau in accomplishing its mission of being the nation's leading provider of quality data about its people and economy. The Tier 2 Lead will perform the following tasks: • Coordinate with the designated government customer Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) to provide daily technical direction to technicians regarding priorities, collaborative and independent work assignments, skill and experience requirements, and adjustments in level of effort as needed. • Coordinate with the designated customer's technical point of contact to provide day-to-day direction to technicians for participation in collaborative technical efforts. • Provide additional guidance and trouble-shooting capabilities to the Tier II Technicians. • Review and provide guidance with regard to Contractor work products. • Report progress, issues, and risks to the government customer. • Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly status reports as needed. • Provide guidance to Tier II contractors on creating and submit Remedy knowledge base articles and guidance on content •Develop and implement Tier 2 SOP Requirements The successful candidate will meet or exceed the following minimum qualifications • Minimum of 4+ years of experience related to Desktop and Customer support in Windows / OS X environments. • Preferred degree in Computer Science/Information Technology field • Technical Certification such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Dell Certified Systems Expert (DCSE). ITIL v3 and HDI Certifications preferred. • Experience working with customers, gathering and understanding customer requirements • Experience in fostering and managing customer relationships • Experience in written and/or verbal communication (reports) to peers, stakeholders, and management • Understanding of how to troubleshoot desktop problems • Experience supervising or managing a team of up to 10 employees • Ability to analyze the problem, develop a strategy and implement the solution • As this is a customer-facing position, the candidate must present a positive, professional demeanor that reflects positively upon the company and the supported agency. Must feel comfortable briefing senior leaders within the customer organization. • Proficient to expert ability in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Must be able to speak, read, and write proficiently in the English language
