We are seeking a CAD modeling guru with a good blend of industrial design and engineering experience. As a key member of our Industrial Design Surfacing Team, you will have the opportunity to design and develop products across multiple categories for our construction hand tools businesses.

What You'll DoAs a 3D Surfacing Specialist, you'll be part of our Global Industrial Design organization that has studios across the globe in; Towson MD, Southington CT, Columbus OH, United Kingdom, Germany, Taiwan, and China. This is a strong community of over 80 Industrial Design professionals. This role is based in Towson Maryland. You'll get to:• Create parametric CAD models of new products with CREO software using advanced surfacing skills to develop beautiful and functional designs.• Collaborate with Industrial designers and mechanical engineers to enable the realization of ideas and to facilitate the translation of concepts into production ready CAD solutions.• Drive the evolution of CAD data by utilizing best practices to create robust CAD models that are easy to modify throughout creative development.• Take the initiative to understand and benchmark existing products, then collaborate with team members to refine and develop new innovations.• Prepare and share data for digital renderings, rapid prototypes, transition to production, and for future reuse• Provide leadership to develop strategies to maximize the efficiency of data creation and to ensure brand consistency.

You also have:• Bachelor's degree in design engineering technology, Industrial design, or related discipline.• 5+ years of experience designing consumer products using 3D parametric CAD software. CREO experience preferred.• Expertise in creating complex ergonomic forms using surfacing tools.• Good understanding of top-down CAD modeling methods including master model and skeleton part techniques.• Strong engineering aptitude with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes - injection molding, die casting, forging, machining, and sheet metal forming.• An appreciation for styling and ergonomics, and enjoy collaborating with industrial designers to develop, implement, and execute signature brand elements.• A team player skilled at coaching team members and at influencing outcomes with cross-functional partners.• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.• An impressive portfolio of work that demonstrates your 3D CAD modeling skills.
