What You'll DoAs an Engineering Manager you'll be part of our GTS team located in Towson, MD. You'll get to:
  • Lead a team of 5 to 7 software engineers, developing designs and processes for next generationsensoredandsensorlessBLDC motor control platforms.
  • Guide troubleshooting and technical problem-solving on motor control software being integrated into new products
  • Partner with multiple groups/functions to understand, analyze and/or influence inputs (ex: external regulations, internal procedures, design decisions, interpretation of user feedback, etc.), then make strategic recommendations to business groups.
  • Establish and enforce design and process controls, conduct root-cause analysis, and apply statistical and Lean Six-Sigma techniques to maintain and improve product quality as problems arise thru the product development cycle.
  • Provide resource forecasting for long-term projects and hiring initiatives. Distill organizational priorities into team goals, holding self and team fully accountable for results and Behaviors.
  • Identify ongoing training requirements, and ensure entire department fulfills expectations.
  • Drive local talent development to include performance management, individual and team development, and high engagement across teams.
  • Hold self and others accountable for demonstration of Values & Behaviors. Teach by example, influencing at all levels of the organization to act with honesty, integrity, and the highest ethical standards.
  • Mentor and develop team to harness their creativity, challenge their current thinking, and propose new solutions that lead to successful outcomes.
  • Act as a thought leader who generates new ideas, both in terms of technical approaches as well as leadership behaviors.

  • BSEE, BSCS, BSCE or equivalent (4 years) from accredited electrical/computerengineering college
  • 8 - 15 yrs. experience in product development
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded system (bare metal) design
  • Extensive knowledge of developing embedded 8bit/16bit/32bit microcontrollers in C, C, or ASM.
  • Experience with closed loop control and feedback systems for AC and BLDC motors
  • Familiarity with lithium ion battery powered systems.
  • Experience with common motor control techniques, includingfield-orientedcontrol andsensoredorsensorlesstrapezoidal control.
  • Strong understanding of embedded software concepts,including:hard real time processing, process scheduling, cooperative multitasking, interrupt processing, race conditions, RTOS.
  • Familiar with software development processes and controls (static analysis, distributed version control, unit testing, bug tracking).
  • Experience in managing and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) and the ability to discuss technical issues with a wide range of audiences
  • Strong familiarity with processes such as hardware and software testing, test equipment, production end-of-line testers.
