Who You AreYou're a strong problem solver who loves digging into the details to fully understand what is going on. You have fixed a lot of problems, so you know how sort out what is meaningful and what is not to be as efficient as possible. You like getting your hands dirty and want to be the one disassembling a problem to find out what is broken and how to fix it. You are comfortable learning new skills and developing your talents. You want to work on a project where you can see the fruits of your labor come to life and enjoy seeing the finished product on the shelves of major retailers around the globe. You also have:

Qualifications:
  • BSCPE or BSEE degree from an accredited university (or equivalent)
  • 2+ years experience with bare-metal microcontroller programming in C (8-bit, 16-bit, or 32-bit)
  • Demonstrated experience configuring and using microcontroller peripherals (ADC, DAC, Timers, WDT, Etc.)
  • Functional knowledge of embedded electronic circuits and components
  • Functional knowledge/experience with wireless modules (BLE, BTC, LoRa, Etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot embedded systems using industry standard tools (Oscilloscope, ICD, DMM, etc.)
  • Ability to generate and evaluate creative ideas and inspire others to do so
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence the organization and to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to contribute several concurrent projects in meaningful ways
  • General knowledge/experience with power tools and hand tools
  • Ability to integrate subsystems in support of Rapid Prototyping
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on fabrication skills a strong plus
What You'll DoAs an Embedded SystemsEngineer,you'll be part of our Global Tools & Storage team located in Towson, MD. Specifically, you'll:
  • Design and contribute to development of prototypes of new and innovative embedded products
  • Develop solutions for firmware related issues as an integral member of a larger team.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for work performed.
  • Translate internal customer requirements into software specifications.
  • Embrace cross functional teamwork.
  • Research emerging technologies and incorporate them into new designs as appropriate
  • Attend and participate in hardware and firmware design reviews
  • Provide creative ideas and innovation to work processes
