Engineering Technician III - Aircraft Control Background; Duties; Responsibilities; Requirements: SCA minimum pay rate $28.79 This position provides aircraft control and airspace management support as part of the BayWatch and Echo Control Teams in the Test Management Branch at Atlantic Test Ranges, Patuxent River, Maryland.- Provides aircraft command and control for open air RDT&E and training events
- Attends detailed briefings and reviews project documentation to determine best courses of action for event execution
- Configures real-time command and control display and data collection systems to meet well defined RDT&E and training event requirements
- Minimum of four years of aircraft control, engineering, technical, or operational experience is required. In lieu of post-high school education/training, a total of 6 years' experience in performing the stated functions is required.
- Experience in aircraft command and control techniques required
- Must have working knowledge of applicable air traffic control rules and regulations
- Understanding of airspace management and range operations
- Knowledge of engineering and RDT&E practices, principles, and techniques for aircraft testing and weapons system evaluations
- Must be able to work overtime when requested.
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- All candidates will be required to pass Drug Screenings
- Successful completion of Air Intercept Controller (0318) or Air Traffic Controller technical training is preferred but not essential.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be able to obtain and hold a DoD Secret Clearance
