We are recruiting for a Systems Engineer to support energetics challenges for Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) for Cartridge Actuated Devices/Propellant Actuated Devices (CAD/PAD). This is a senior level position with responsibility to oversee and document engineering project tasks including initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure to meet project requirements. This position is pending a contract award with an anticipated start in late 2020. This position will require business travel and availability to work in Indian Head, MD. Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Serve as a technical expert for CAD/PAD Engineering.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of hardware and/or software engineering principles.
  • Plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of specific engineering tasks. Work closely with upper management and the CAD/PAD team to ensure that the scope and direction of each project is on track.
  • Support assignments that will result in studies, evaluations, and recommendations, and solutions to highly complex and important engineering or technical problems.
  • Provide technical guidance to lower level engineers or technicians.
Requirements include:
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Current Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of systems engineering experience supporting energetics challenges for Coast Guard CAD/PAD or Navy/USMC, USAF, or Army.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with related product qualification. item or systems engineering, acceptance testing, product investigations, in-service and/or disposition engineering support.
  • Experience with overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project.
  • Ability to travel, as required. Travel is anticipated to be mainly CONUS, but overseas trips may be required.
