Job Description
Position works in Quality Control to ensure product specifications are strictly adhered to by performing incoming, first sample, in-process, and final quality control inspections of product using a microscope and various measurement tools
- Inspect and record results of product at specified stages of the production process to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products
- Enter data into SAP system software during inspection procedures
- Responsible for compilation of inspection reports and records
- Communication of visual and dimensional results to production (machinists and visitage)
- To review and complete manufacturing generated device history record documentation
- Other duties as may be assigned by the head of Quality Engineering
- Other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Supervisor / Lead Quality Control Inspector
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience performing visual inspection using a microscope
- Minimum 2 years experience in an ISO certified medical device or defense manufacturing environment
- Experience in quality control in an ISO certified medical device or defense manufacturing environment strongly desired
- Knowledge of machining is strongly desired
- Required Knowledge and Skills:
- High degree of attention to detail
- Strict, uncompromising adherence to quality standards
- Excellent visual acuity; ability to use a microscope for long periods of time
- Ability to use computers for collecting and logging data; familiar with Microsoft Office productivity software (Excel, Word at minimum)
- Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures
- Knowledge of inspection and quality control methods, techniques, and equipment strongly desired
- Knowledge of use of a wide variety of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and optical measuring equipment strongly desired
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings for machined parts strongly desired
- Understanding of the machining process and familiarity with machining equipment strongly desired
Additional Information
· Production environment will include working in highly controlled room, wearing protective gear (gown, mask, gloves), and working at a fast pace for an 8 hour shift.
· Requires manual dexterity and ability to manipulate small objects while wearing gloves
