Job Description:We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our clients’ growing team. The person will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and Data Engineer who enjoys optimizing and designing data systems. The Data Engineer will support our software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing and designing our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architectures.
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Design and develop solutions for the extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.
  • Support our analytics tool infrastructures that utilize our data pipelines to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.
  • Work with stakeholders across many levels of the organization to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Work with data scientists and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.

Job Qualifications:
  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
  • Experience using the following:
  • Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL
  • Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET, C#
  • Developer tools such as Azure DevOps, Visual Studio TFS, Github etc.
  • Practical understanding of the Data Modeling (Dimensional & Relational) concepts like Star-Schema Modeling, Snowflake Schema Modeling, Fact and Dimension tables.
  • Excellent understanding of T-SQL programming and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Proficient in Microsoft C#, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems.
  • Experience developing software using object-oriented programming techniques.
  • Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable solution.
  • Knack for writing clean, readable C# code.
  • Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
  • Familiarity with application security and defensive coding skills.
  • Debugging skills; able to debug complex technical issues involving multiple system components.
