A thriving investment firm in Boston is hiring a Staff Accountant. Working closely with the Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for supporting a wide range of accounting duties, including account payables/receivables, fixed assets, bank and account reconciliation, and other duties as needed. This is an exciting opportunity to get your foot in the door at a life science company that is growing rapidly.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Accounting Manager with account payables (ensure compliance and approval) and prepare check runs.
Code and upload American Express expenses and ensure proper signatures and receipts.
Resolve vendor issues and payable discrepancies.
Prepare bank reconciliations.
Perform fund account reconciliations.
Make bank deposits.
Assist with month-end close.
Participate in year-end tax reporting.
Ad hoc reports as requested.
Support contract group, including drafting contracts from templates, reviewing contract requests, distributing drafts to service providers, collecting signatures, and filing.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in accounting/finance.
Excellent communication, organization and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently.
Strong computer skills including MS Office and Excel
Experience with multiple entities and inter-company transactions a plus.
Attention to detail.
Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
Desire to create efficiencies and automate where necessary.
