Epsilon is seeking a hands-on Lead Software Engineer who will be part of an agile development team, building and working on enterprise grade highly scalable suite of software application to delivery best-in-class digital marketing platform. You will be part of cross-functional team in a mentor/leadership capacity and involved in the complete life cycle of product development. Responsible for design, development, and unit testing of the highly scalable applications as well as mentoring junior/mid-level software engineers.

They will work closely with technical leadership and product owners as part of the agile scrum development team to design and implement technical solutions critical to Epsilon’s digital roadmap objectives. This is an active code development and implementation contributor role.

The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for completing all phases of the system development life cycle and all architectural layers (User Interface, Web Services, Business Logic, Data Services, etc.) of web-based applications. The Lead will perform business and technical requirements analysis and review.

  • Will be responsible for proactively learning and evaluating emerging technologies (reviewing technical journals, team sharing, mentors, vendors, peer groups, special training, etc.)
  • Will develop, monitor, and enforce technical standards

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in an object-oriented language such as Java.
  • Degree Required - Computer Science or similar field of study.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Strong background REST web services, Spring Framework, Hibernate, XML, JMS, (JDBC, SQL) and performance tuning.
  • Working Knowledge of Relational (e.g. ORACLE, MYSQL) and noSQL (e.g. Cassandra, mongoDB) databases.
  • Experience with AWS or other Cloud platforms.
  • Experience with DevOps, developing code with Terraform, working on build tools and releasing the application to production with minimum to no human intervention.
  • Deep understanding of Java Web technologies HTML 5, CSS, XML, XPath, XSD, JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS, backbone.js.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Proficiency in Computer Science fundamentals – object oriented design, data structures, algorithm – design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
  • Sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills.
  • Understanding of Continuous integration tools e.g. Jenkins, GoCD.
